Norfolk School Board Must Plan to Close 10 Schools

The Norfolk City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to request the School Board come up with a plan by August to close 10 schools starting next year.

The resolution requires an action plan to be submitted prior to Aug. 1. The plan would propose closures and consolidations of 10 schools starting prior to the 2026-2027 school year and continuing at a minimum of two schools a year until the number no longer exceeds the amount needed.
