Curtis D. Anderson, Finance Director of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, pleaded guilty to stealing nearly 3 million dollars from the 110 year organization.
He told investigators he stole the money to fund a gambling habit during a time he struggled with an alcohol addiction. He began stealing checks in June 2012 and cashed 78 checks at Santander Bank and 40 checks at Wells Fargo. Santander Bank flagged the account and notified the fraternity in 2018.
His sentencing is set for February 22, 2022 and he could face a maximum sentence of 82 years along with 1 million dollar restitution.
